Engo over the years

Engo starts as a small machinery manufacturer in Terento, Val Pusteria (Italy).

Engo started with revolutionizing the ice sports sector. For the first time in Italy, an ice resurfacer would be developed and built. At the same time the the production of durable GRP hockey boards began.

Many ski slopes were being artificially snowed on by snow cannons – Engo also had developed the first Italian product of this type. A year later the engines of bigger ice resurfacers for speedskating had started at Engo.

In 1986 the product range expanded with accessories for competitive ice sports. 1987 Engo had first started exporting their products to Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Scandinavia already where the first products were shipped to Sweden and Finland.

The development of electric ice resurfacers started in 1990 and already posed a viable and torque filled alternative to internal combustion engines. The reason for this rethinking was the protection and well-being of visitors and athletes in indoor venues. In the following years many smaller tools were created as well as a dasher board that could be assembled and disassembled more quickly for multi-use ice rinks.

In 1995 Engo acquired the CE- and ISO 9001 product certifications, which shows the company’s commitment to quality and our quality management. Over the next 3 years Engo added the markets of Spain, Portugal, France, Russia, China, and further eastern European countries.

In 2006 the company delivered a wide array of products like dasher boards and accessories for the 20th Winter Olympics in Turin.

In 2009 the company was able to achieve another quality breakthrough with the creation of an ice resurfacer that could automate many processes of the ice maintenance.

Within 2011 many more countries in Asia got a formal representative for Engo products and North America was also added. In this same year Engo became a full supplier for ice arena equipment of ice rinks for any size.
In 2012 Engo worked with different universities in creating a unique and flexible dasher board system. This flexible dasher board system has been created to increase safety in ice hockey and allows for a higher absorption of kinetic energy that diminishes the forces acting on the colliding player for about up to 80%.

In 2012 and 2013 Engo delivered electric ice resurfacers for the ice hockey championships to the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki.

Since 2019 Engo is part of the TechnoAlpin group. The union between the companies under the TechnoAlpin corporate umbrella allows for a new wave of innovations and a flow of ideas. It encompasses many aspects of the winter sports sector and empowers clients by allowing for a more creative and complete solution creation.
